My Noro Lion's Foot Stitch Flower Scarf

Hello my dear Blog friends,

Thanks for stopping by. Today I promise you lots of colour, so put your sunglasses on!!!

Very recently I made myself a quick scarf. It just happened!!!

One Monday I visited Lana, one of my favourite Wool shops in Antwerp and managed to find just one single ball of Noro Kureyon Sock yarn in a wonderful array of colours! I knew it was meant for me! It appears long discontinued, no chance to find anymore, unfortunately!

On Tuesday I started and by Saturday it was finished! I have been wearing it a lot since then!

My Noro Flower Scarf

This is my *nearly finished scarf, made from just a single 100g ball of yarn!

Wound into a yarn cake - such amazing colours!

This is the first row of flowers

The scarf is made from four flower rows

*Nearly finished, because at the end I had about 20g left, from which I decided to make tassels! They ended up being about 25 cm long.

Ta-dah! My finished scarf

Thanks so much for your patience lately. I know this post was a bit overdue, but you might not know that I recently had to work hard for my Dutch exams which were only last week. For one of them I had to have read a book and then give a comprehensive written account and answer a lot of questions. The other exam was my oral exam which also needed preparation. I will have to wait a bit now before I get my results.

I will try and catch up now, thanks for all your support and last comments, much appreciated!

Feel free to leave me your comments!
Enjoy the nice weather!!!

Finished project: Lion's Foot Crochet Flower Stitch Scarf

Hello my lovely blog friends,

Another week has started, where does the time go? Hope you all had a nice weekend. And a quick shout out to my newest followers, thanks for joining in!

I can now reveal my finished Flower Stitch Scarf, I have first blogged about it in this post here.

In the end I used 5 x balls of the cotton mix yarn which resulted in 6 long strands of flowers which were crocheted together as you work on the flowers.

The yarn is variegated and has subtle shades ranging from white to a deep pink. I didn't block the scarf which would have made it wider, but instead preferred the natural elasticity.

The finished size is 168 cm long and 28 cm wide. Long enough to wear wrapped around the neck or as a long shawl.

The scarf feels very soft and light! Great for Spring and Summer!

It will be a gift for my mum on her upcoming Birthday!

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think! I look forward to your comments!

More crochet news - Lion's foot flower stitch Scarf

Welcome back,

Crochet lion's foot flower stitch

On YouTube I found this helpful crochet tutorial on Oana's crochet channel:

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpvI5Af2xl8

I was intrigued by the idea that you need to crochet in a right direction for the first row which is quite unusual! The whole flower pattern is made by working only 3 rows. As a result you will have a long flower ribbon which could be used as a border to an existing project (blanket, top, etc).

On the other hand, you can work several of these flower ribbons and join them as you work. This results in a larger 'fabric' and can be used to construct clothing and blankets.

How this works is all shown in the video.

I felt very inspired and decided to give it a go. So I started work on a Flower crochet Shawl, using some yarn I recently bought at Wolle Roedel in Germany.

The yarn is called Rico Creative Sport Print DK. 50 g = 145 m, suggested needle size 4.5 - 5.5mm.
It's a mix of 50% cotton and 50% Acrylic which makes it super soft and squishy!

You can also order it online: Rico Creative Sport Print dk 50g  (of course you might also find it at your own retailer!)

Here you can see my work in progress. I love the subtle changes of colour! You can see I'm using a 4mm hook which feels right to me as I crochet fairly loosely.

I am making a long scarf, but it would be really easy to join it to make a lovely cowl! I'm still working on it, one section at a time. I will let you see it when it is finished!

I wonder what you think of it, please let me know and leave me a comment below!

Hope you enjoyed this project!
